578 new COVID-19 cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 87,829, with 578 new cases and 78 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 12,656.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 369,288 up from 368,710 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 268,803.

Currently, 3,729 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 272 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,176,944 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 18,030 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 68,548. Pest County is the second most affected, with 45,908 cases, followed by Hajdú-Bihar County (20,872 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 32,746.

Until now, 243,036 people have been vaccinated, and 68,526 of them have already received the second dose as well.
