5,839 new COVID cases registered over last 3 days

Some 5,839 new COVID cases were registered in Hungary between March 18-20, bringing the total number of identified infections since the start of the epidemic to 1,829,928, according to data by koronavirus.gov.hu.

Some 134 people died between Friday and Sunday due to COVID-related causes, bringing the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 45,095.

The number of recovered persons has reached 1,681,268, and the number of active infections now stands at 103,565.

A total of 2,061 patients infected with coronavirus are hospitalized, 74 of them are on ventilators. 

The total number of vaccinated persons is 6,400,547, of whom 6,183,247 have already had their second vaccination and 3,834,724 have already had their booster jabs.
