3,427 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 264,039, with 3,427 new cases and 207 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 26,208.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 764,394 up from 760,967 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 474,147.

Currently, 7,177 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 844 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 138,497. Pest County is the second most affected, with 106,257 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (43,018 cases).

So far 5,233,530 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 42,182 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

According to the website, a total of 3,508,846 people have been vaccinated until today. The number of those who have received a second dose as well has increased to 1,490,478.

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 65,239.
