262 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

Some 262 new coronavirus cases were registered in Hungary yesterday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 812,793, according to data by koronavirus.gov.hu.

One patient died, raising the total coronavirus death toll to 30,060.

The number of recovered patients is on the rise, reaching 777,909, while the number of active cases stands at 4,824.

Some 138 infected people are currently hospitalized, and 16 of them require ventilation.

The total number of vaccinated persons is 5,781,121, of whom 5,510,678 have already received their second vaccination. Some 342,000 people have already received their third vaccination.

The delta virus mutant is spreading in several European countries and is already present in Hungary, and unvaccinated people are at greatest risk, the website notes.
