2,853 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary



The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 78,625, with 2,853 new cases and 104 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 14,035.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 394,023 up from 391,170 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 301,363.

Currently, 4,021 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 332 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,434,878 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 22,893 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 73,276. Pest County is the second most affected, with 49,387 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (22,273 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 39,341.

Until now, 365,021 people have been vaccinated, and 141,023 of them have already received the second dose as well.
