2,696 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 115,981, with 2,696 new cases and 115 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 15,988.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 468,713 up from 466,017 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 336,744.

Currently, 7,924 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 806 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,874,513 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 37,343 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 88,326. Pest County is the second most affected, with 61,305 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (26,909 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 47,636.

Until now, 1,002,714 people have received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccination.
