2,623 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 82,649, with 2,623 new cases and 48 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 14,347.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 405,646 up from 403,023 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 308,650.

Currently, 4,489 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 394 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,519,536 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 25,589 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 75,627. Pest County is the second most affected, with 51,135 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (23,142 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 41,308.

Until now, 453,457 people have been vaccinated, and 201,005 of them have already received the second dose as well.
