2,328 new COVID-19 cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 260,686, with 2,328 new cases and 205 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 26,625.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 769,518 up from 767,190 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 482,207.

Currently, 6,284 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 790 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 139,171. Pest County is the second most affected, with 106,869 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (43,448 cases).

So far 5,280,600 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 37,497 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine. 

According to the website, a total of 3,596,129 people have been vaccinated until today. The number of those who have received a second dose as well has increased to 1,621,420.

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 65,819.
