2,020 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 78,577, with 2,020 new cases and 93 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 13,636.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 385,755 up from 383,735 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 293,542.

Currently, 3,771 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 299 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,357,672 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 20,794 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 71,728. Pest County is the second most affected, with 48,247 cases, followed by Hajdú-Bihar County (21,682 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 37,244.

Until now, 330,745 people have been vaccinated, and 124,423 of them have already received the second dose as well.
