199 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 52,272, with 199 new cases and 8 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 29,904.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 806,790 up from 806,591 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 724,614.

Currently, 442 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 51 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 143,910. Pest County is the second most affected, with 111,876 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (46,513 cases).

So far 5,962,887 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 6,182 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine. 

According to the website, a total of 5,324,996 people have been vaccinated until today. The number of those who have received a second dose as well has increased to 4,157,681.
