164 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 101,537, with 164 new cases and 21 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 29,581.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 802,510 up from 802,346 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 671,392.

Currently, 1,417 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 159 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 143,323. Pest County is the second most affected, with 111,182 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (46,046 cases).

So far 5,750,359 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 12,376 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

According to the website, a total of 5,026,529 people have been vaccinated until today. The number of those who have received a second dose as well has increased to 3,072,940.
