1,862 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 81,297, with 1,862 new cases and 97 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 13,444.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 381,875 up from 380,013 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 287,134.

Currently, 3,799 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 299 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,318,850 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 21,456 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 70,847. Pest County is the second most affected, with 47,680 cases, followed by Hajdú-Bihar County (21,520 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 36,507.

Until now, 294,624 people have been vaccinated, and 117,368 of them have already received the second dose as well.
