1,707 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 77,583, with 1,707 new cases and 70 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 13,706.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 387,462 up from 385,755 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 296,173.

Currently, 3,755 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 312 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,377,187 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 19,927 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 72,077. Pest County is the second most affected, with 48,457 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (21,859 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 37,791.

Until now, 335,188 people have been vaccinated, and 128,195 of them have already received the second dose as well.
