1,459 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 97,752, with 1,459 new cases and 83 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 12,374.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 364,909 up from 363,450 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 254,783.

Currently, 3,649 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 258 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,116,784 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 17,540 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 67,766. Pest County is the second most affected, with 45,321 cases, followed by Hajdú-Bihar County (20,662 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 30,819.

Until now, 175,283 people have been vaccinated, and 37,727 of them have already received the second dose as well.
