1,438 new COVID-19 cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 111,998, with 1,438 new cases and 87 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 11,264.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 350,587 up from 349,149 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 227,325.

Currently, 4,408 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 328 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 2,936,435 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 24,874 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 65,614. Pest County is the second most affected, with 43,608 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (19,863 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 25,749.

Some 112,847 people have been vaccinated until Friday night, the website notes.
