1,358 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 119,309, with 1,358 new cases and 95 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 10,948.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 345,710 up from 344,352 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 215,453.

Currently, 4,870 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 339 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 2,879,364 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 25,856 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 64,944. Pest County is the second most affected, with 43,115 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (19,666 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 24,555.

Some 86,929 people have been vaccinated until Tuesday night, the website notes.
