1,279 new COVID-19 cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 81,644, with 1,279 new cases and 98 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 13,347.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 380,013 up from 378,734 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 285,022.

Currently, 3,747 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 296 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,298,814 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 19,414 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 70,500. Pest County is the second most affected, with 47,384 cases, followed by Hajdú-Bihar County (21,447 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 36,202.

Until now, 292,627 people have been vaccinated, and 113,570 of them have already received the second dose as well.
