Report: PMI rises to 54.2 in January
The seasonally-adjusted Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) of Hungary reached 54.2 points in January, up from December’s 50.9 points, the compiler of the index Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (Halpim) reported today.
An index value above 50 shows expansion in the manufacturing sector, while a value under 50 signals contraction. According to Halpim, the index has been over the growth threshold for more than a year. Halpim added that the index was over the long-term January average of 52.0 points and also exceeded the 53.4-point January average of the last three years.
