Report: Government could broaden eligibility for home subsidies

The Hungarian government is reportedly planning to broaden eligibility and expand home subsidies due to high demand, Hungarian economic daily Napi Gazdaság said today.
The paper noted that a new home subsidies system, which allows purchases of used homes, was launched on July 1.
Data cited by the paper reveal that in two weeks approximately 50,000 people expressed interest in the subsidies, while several thousand already handed in applications for the subsidy. The paper added that driven by the high demand, the Hungarian government is considering further expanding the system.
