Report: Buda-Cash suspectsʼ pre-trial detention extended

At the request of Budapest’s chief prosecutor, a Hungarian court has extended the pre-trial detention of three suspects in the boutique brokerage Buda-Cash scandal, Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet said today, citing Bettina Bagoly, a spokesperson for the prosecutor.
Custody of the three suspects was extended until December 11, Bagoly said.
The three suspects were arrested in the spring, after Hungarian authorities uncovered fraudulent activity at the brokerage going back more than a decade, the daily noted. The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) estimated investors may have lost as much as HUF 100 bln as a result.
