Prices of 1,400 drugs to go up 2%-2.5%

The price of 1,400 subsidised drugs will go up by 2%-2.5%, whereas 300 drugs will become cheaper as of July 1, the National Health Fund Administration (OEP) said on Friday.

The price increase will be less than Ft 100 (€0.35) apiece, OEP said. The new system was attributed to changes in the state's drug subsidy system fixing the amount of support for medicines to the price of their cheapest alternatives. As of July doctors and general practitioners will use new prescription forms, which are in line with EU standards, OEP added.
The OEP expects to save Ft 5 billion-Ft 6 billion as a result of the new system.
