PMI climbs to 52.8 in May

Hungary's seasonally-adjusted Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) rose to 52.8 points in May from 51.0 in April, when it edged back over the 50-point threshold that signals expansion in the manufacturing sector, the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (Halpim) said on Tuesday, according to a report by news agency MTI.
The new orders index rose in May from the previous month and remained over 50.
The production volume index also rose and stayed over the 50-point mark.
The employment index showed an expansion, after pointing to a contraction in April.
Delivery times were longer than in April.
Purchased inventories rose "at a strong pace" in May after a decline in April.
