Number of broadband subscriptions in Hungary rises to 1,982,000 in June
The number of broadband ADSL and cable subscriptions in Hungary rose to 1,982,000 at the end of June from 1,980,000 at the end of May, the National Media and Telecommunications Authority (NMHH) said on Thursday.
The number of broadband ADSL lines fell to 795,000 at the end of June from 798,000 at the end of May, while the number of broadband cable subscriptions rose to 778,000 at the end of June from 774,000 at the end of May. The number of optical cable subscriptions rose to 235,000 at the end of June from 234,000 one month earlier.
Taking all segments of the fixed-line market, Magyar Telekom was the first with a market share of 34.6%, followed by UCP, holding 20.9% of the market. Other service providers with a significant subscriber base were Digi and Invitel, NMHH said.
