Monetary base growth rate rises in May
The annualized month-on-month growth index of the monetary base (M0) was 110%, up 7.5 percentage points from April, according to preliminary figures reported by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) on Monday.
Currency in circulation rose by Ft 7.5 billion to Ft 1,788.1 billion, the monthly average stock of other monetary financial institutions’ current account deposits increased by Ft 27.4 billion to Ft 586.2 billion and that of other monetary financial institutions’ overnight deposits decreased by Ft 33.3 billion to Ft 20.2 billion.
