Monetary base falls in November, returning to trend

Hungary's monetary base fell by Ft 68.9 bln to Ft 2,563.5 bln in November, returning to a level in line with the trend following a rise in October, preliminary figures published by the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) on Tuesday show.

Among the components of the monetary base, currency in circulation rose by Ft 22.6 billion to Ft 1,936.8 billion, the monthly average stock of current account deposits stayed level with the previous month at Ft 618.4 billion and the average stock of overnight deposits fell Ft 91.5 billion to Ft 8.3 billion, following a big increase in the previous month.
