Hungarian escape artist David Merlini gets out a glass tank after creating the world record of surviving underwater without air in Hollywood, California, October 10, 2007.

Merlini, chained and handcuffed, persisted for 10 minutes and 17 seconds in the tank underwater. He tried but failed to create the record in his previous attempt on October 9, 2007. (See pictures, read more )
