Media authority clears way for tariff increases at MTel, Telenor

Analysis

Hungaryʼs National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) today reportedly signed contracts with Magyar Telekom and Telenor "ensuring the validation of subscriber rights" when tariff changes take effect on July 1, Hungarian news agency MTI said.

The NMHH announced they would carry out a probe of the two telcos in June to determine whether tariff increases they planned were in compliance with regulations. The authority prohibited the companies from implementing the tariff increases until the probe was completed.
