M0 given green light again

Analysis

The construction of the M0 ring-road can be continued since the Central Transport Supervision (KKF), following a reiterated procedure, granted National Motorway Zrt (NA) the new construction permit on Thursday.

On 21 September the Budapest Court abrogated the environmental resolution and the construction permit regarding the 8.9 km stretch, and required new procedures from the environmental and transport authorities of appeal. NA received the construction permit and notified the contractor consortium ED-M0 2005 Joint Venture, comprising Egút Zrt and Debmút Zrt the same day that they can immediately go on with the construction, said president-CEO Kálmán Reményik. There is still a chance for finishing the job by the deadline of 30 November 2007, he added. (Napi Gazdaság)
