Lázár signs cooperation with architects, engineers

Analysis

Cabinet chief János Lázár, on behalf of the Hungarian government, signed a cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and the Hungarian Chamber of Architects yesterday.

Under the agreement the signees are required to assist in reducing bureaucracy in the construction sector and find ways to use European Union funding more efficiently.

Etelka Pataky Barsi, who heads the engineersʼ chamber, said the body wanted to work together with the Prime Ministerʼs Office to simplify procedures and revise preparations for investments.

Chairman of the architects chamber, Péter Hajnóczi, said procedures had become so complicated that even professionals found them difficult to follow.
