Landline connections fall, ADSL connections rise in May
The number of landline telephone connections in Hungary fell 9,000 or 0.3% to 3.4 million in May from a month earlier, but the number of ADSL connections rose 11,700 or 2.57% to 467,000, the National Communications Authority (NHH) said on Tuesday.
The number of landlines per 100 people fell from 33.86 in April to 33.76 in May. The percentage of Hungarian homes with landline connections fell from 67.65% to 67.46%, according to figures compiled from the country's biggest telcos.
Total duration of calls initiated rose 4.67% to 791 million minutes in May. The total duration of initiated calls per landline rose to 232.5 minutes in May from 221.5 minutes in April, while the average duration per call fell to 3.27 minutes from 3.32 minutes during the same period.
12.31% of landline callers used dial-around services in May, up from 12.1% in April.
