June industrial producer prices rise 7.9% yr/yr
Hungary’s industrial producer prices were up 7.9% year-on-year in June and rose 2.4% from May, the Central Statistic Office (KSH) reported on Monday.
Producer prices rose just 0.1% in May from April. Domestic producer prices increased 7.7% year-on-year in June and were up 0.8% from May. Producer prices for industrial export in forint terms increased 8% year-on-year in June and rose 3.5% from May.
The forint's weakening was a main factor in the sharp monthly increase in forint-term export prices, KSH said. The forint weakened 3.6% to the euro and 4.6% to the dollar in June from May. Compared to June 2005, the forint weakened 9.2% to the euro and 5% to the dollar.
