Industry Share of Value Added Close to 24% in Hungary

Analysis

Industry's share of value added in the Hungarian economy reached 23.9% last year, data compiled by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) shows.

The rate is over the 20.6% average for the European Union as a whole.

In a regional comparison, industry's share of value added stood at 28.2% in Czechia, 27% in Poland, and 24.1% in Slovakia.

Headcount in the industrial sector accounted for 23% of all employees at businesses with at least five people on payroll, budget-funded institutions, and nonprofits.

The sector accounted for 32.8% of investment volume in Hungary last year.
