Hungary near top in broadband speed survey

Ranking broadband speeds in 200 countries across multiple 12-month periods, price comparison service cable.co.uk has generated an overall average speed measurement for the globe and gauged how this number changes over time, penzcentrum.hu reported.
Hungary is ranked ninth in the world with a speed of 34.01 Mbps as measured by cable.co.uk, beaten by only one regional peer, Romania.
Perhaps surprising to some, Hungary is ahead of Germany, and even the United States. The list is topped by Singapore with its vibrant digital economy and infrastructural development, followed by Sweden in second place, focusing on FTTP (fibre to the premises), and Denmark, which provides extremely fast speeds and excellent future-proofing.
In general, the global average speed is rising quickly, penzcentrum.hu noted.
