Households Increase Domestic Security Holdings

Households increased their holdings of domestic securities in July, which now amount to more than HUF 21 trillion, another peak according to the latest data from the National Bank of Hungary (MNB), writes business daily Világgazdaság.
The population has thus increased its wealth for the 10th consecutive month, and the total value of savings held in domestic securities increased by almost HUF 5 tln during the last 12 months.
In the July, the MNB measured a 2.5% expansion, representing an increase of HUF 520 billion compared to the end of June.
More than half of this, HUF 289.5 bln, came from newly invested savings, and the return on existing assets increased the value of their portfolio by almost HUF 232 bln.
