The income situation of the Hungarian population improved in the first quarter, as the income of an average household amounted to HUF 414,000, K&H said on Saturday based on a representative survey, according to hrportal.hu.

However, K&H emphasized that the subjective sense of financial security of respondents aged 30-59 is only just beginning to catch up with values measured between 2018 and 2020.

According to a quarterly survey by K&H's Secure Future Index, 31% of those affected feel particularly secure about their financial situation, while 17% expressed a very pessimistic view.

Another 42% of the respondents stated that their income conditions have not changed since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Hungary in March 2020, while 18% of participants reported an improvement. Meanwhile, only 4-9% of respondents perceived a positive change between the second quarter of 2020 and 2021.
