Gov't submits bill to reduce number of hospital beds by 12,000

The government submitted a bill on Friday to eliminate or change the functions of 12,000 hospital beds, government spokeswoman Emese Danks said.
As part of the changes pipelined, the overhauled health care system would operate on four levels: specialized care to be found within a 55-kilometer radius, general hospitals within a 30-kilometer reach, outpatient care within 20 kilometers of every patient in the country as well as the network of family doctors, Molnár said.
