Ecostat SME business confidence index improves in October
The business confidence index for SMEs was 40.4%, up by 4 percentage points in October, economic research institute Ecostat announced on Friday.
Ecostat attributed the optimism to a lively international market and good performance in the domestic real economy. On the whole, the SMEs viewed their own positions slightly more optimistically than that of the national economy. Their performance indices suggest that current political problems on the home front have not directly affected them, as money and capital market fluctuations have been followed quickly by corrections. Domestic businesses consider it important for Hungary to restore its credibility to receive European Union support, and that means they want to see structural reforms implemented, the Ecostat report said.
