Daylight savings time over on Sunday; turn clocks back

Daylight savings time, or summer time, is over this weekend, and clocks need to be turned one hour back at 3 a.m. Sunday – which will then become 2 a.m.

MAVIR Hungarian Independent Transmission Operator Company said that, since 1980, Hungary has saved a total of 4000 gigawatt hours of energy by using daylight savings time. MAVIR added that, thanks to daylight savings time, Hungary saves a total of 120 gigawatt hours annually, which is equates to the annual energy use of approximately 30,000-40,000 households.
