Business confidence keeps rising
Business confidence in Hungary continues to improve, state news wire MTI reported, citing a gauge of sentiment calculated by the Institute for Economic and Enterprise Research (GVI) of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK).
GVIʼs business confidence index rose to 58.2 points in April, up from 55.5 six months earlier, reaching a new peak.
Confidence has been on the increase since late in 2017, supported by improved outlooks, GVI said. The best prospects were reported at foreign-owned businesses, big exporters and companies with more than 50 people on their payroll.
Gauges of the propensity to make building and machinery investments were lower in a number of sectors.
The measure of expectations for order stocks edged down 2 points to 53.
