Business Chamber Confidence Index Declines

The quarterly business confidence index of the Economic Research Institute (GVI) of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) fell to 17 points in July from 25 in April, MKIK said on Monday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The measure of companies' assessment of the current situation fell to 37 points from 44 during the period. The gauge of outlooks slipped to 31 points from 42.

The indicator of uncertainty climbed to 43 points from 5.

The survey results were based on responses from 350 managers.
