Avg Hourly Rate for Blue-collar Workers Climbs 19% in Q1

The average gross hourly pay rate for skilled and unskilled blue-collar workers in Hungary climbed 19% to HUF 1,779 in the first quarter from the same period a year earlier, news agency MTI reports, citing an analysis by staffing company Trenkwalder.

The hourly pay rate ranged between HUF 1,600 and HUF 1,800 in most regions but was under HUF 1,600 in the north of the country and as high as HUF 2,350 in central Hungary and the capital.

The analysis was based on the wage data of around 7,000 workers.

The gross hourly statutory minimum wage in Hungary is HUF 1,704 for skilled laborers and HUF 1,334 for unskilled workers.
