Some 43,000 firms register for road haulage control system
More than 43,000 companies registered for an electronic monitoring system for road haulage companies (called ekaer) by June 15, asking for more than 4.6 million designation numbers, state secretary András Tállai said yesterday.
The system, which was introduced to squeeze out tax evaders, is expected to provide HU 60 bln in revenue to the state budget this year, the state secretary said.
Since its introduction, National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV) has carried out approximately 8,000 inspections solely based on the monitoring system, NAV deputy leader Árpád Varga said. He noted that the authority uncovered HUF 6.4 bln in overdue tax obligations during these inspections.
