Report: New car sales in Hungary climb almost 18% in June

The number of new passenger car registrations in Hungary saw a year-on-year growth of 17.5% to 7,348 in June, the Hungarian Association of Vehicle Importers (MGE) told Hungarian news agency MTI today.

Data by MGE suggest that first-half passenger car registrations were up by 12.1% at 37,025, while light commercial vehicle registrations rose by 11.1% to 1,456 in June and climbed 16.3% to HUF 8,176 in the first half of the year.

According to MGE’s forecast, full-year new passenger car sales are expected to increase by 15% reaching approximately 75,000, while LCV sales could rise by 6% to 17,000.
