New car sales climb 11% in January
Registrations of new passenger car registrations in Hungary rose by a year-on-year 11%, reaching 4,898 in January, while light commercial vehicle registrations jumped by a y.o.y. 54% to 1,356, automotive industry information service Jato Dynamics told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday.
The overall market leader was U.S.-based Ford, selling a total of 911 vehicles. Skoda was the leader of passenger car segment with the sales of 632 vehicles, and Ford was the leader of the LCV segment selling 110 units. Company purchases accounted for 81% of total sales during the month.
