More cycle paths to be completed this year
Hungaryʼs government and the National Infrastructure Development Company (NIF) have signed contracts this summer worth more than HUF 600 million for further cycle paths.
Máriusz Révész, the government commissioner for cycling and active recreation said at a press conference today that the plans for the 27 cycle paths will be completed by the end of October at the latest.
Some HUF 11 billion has been allocated in next yearʼs central budget for cycle path development, he added. The plans include paths between Budapest and Lake Balaton, around the lake and along the EuroVelo 6 cycle route which follows the Danube through Hungary.
