MNBʼs site for investors draws 14,000 visitors

A website that allows clients of investment companies doing business in Hungary to check their securities and equities account statements against data compiled by the market regulator has logged 14,000 visitors since its launch at the beginning of February, the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) said yesterday.

The data available to clients on the MNBʼs newly established “ESZLA” platform includes a cash account balance, name and volume of securities, settlement currency and nominal value of fixed-income assets. Clients that discover discrepancies between their account statement and data in the ESZLA platform may take the matter up with their investment service provider or indicate the problem to the MNB, either with or without anonymity.

The MNB noted that about 15% of ESZLA visitors choose the platformʼs English language option and about 5% log in from abroad.

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
