Hungary’s state-owned postal company Magyar Posta is expecting to deliver 10-15% more packages by the end of 2016 than in the previous year, Deputy CEO Kálmán Majtényi said Wednesday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.

A year ago the number of packages delivered grew by 16% to 15.7 million compared to the previous year, granting the state company a market share of 35%, MTI reported.

According to Majtényi, deliveries have shown growth due to an expansion in e-commerce. Although international deliveries  account for an ever-bigger share, most packages are still domestic deliveries, he added.

Magyar Posta has switched to higher than normal logistical capacity due to the approaching holidays as daily average turnover doubles in the two months before Christmas, MTI added.
