Labor shortage intensifies, over 83,000 jobs empty
According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), there were 83,611 positions unfilled on the job market in the period April-June 2018, an increase of 4,183 jobs compared to Q1 2018.
The vast majority of unfilled positions can be found in the private sector, with 61,893 jobs waiting for applicants. The total job vacancy rate for all sectors stands at 2.6%.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate stands at a low 3.6%, according to KSHʼs data for May-July 2018, with around 166,200 people without jobs (although administrative data of the National Employment Service (NFSz) suggest the number looking for jobs is much greater).
