KSH: Hungary’s retail sales up 5% in December

The volume of retail sales in Hungary was up 5% in year-on-year terms in December according to raw data and rose by 4.5% adjusted for calendar effects, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office KSH reported.

According to KSH data adjusted for calendar effects, the volume of sales rose by 3.4% in food, drinks and tobacco stores, by 6.4% in non-food retail trade and by 3.7% in automotive fuel retailing.

In the period of January-December 2015, the volume of sales, also according to calendar adjusted data, was 5.6% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year, KSH said.
