KSH: Hungary’s industrial production up 7.8% in September

Hungary’s industrial production saw a year-on-year rise of 7.8% in September, with the index adjusted for working days being equivalent to the non-adjusted index, Hungary’s Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported today.

In year-on-year terms, industrial export sales grew by 9.3% in September, while industrial domestic sales grew by 1.3%, KSH said.

Of the sectors of industry, manufacturing increased by a y.o.y. 9.1% in September, while mining and quarrying (having little weight) fell significantly by 33%, KSH said. The output of the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply) rose by 4.0%, KSH added.

Total new orders in the observed subsections of manufacturing grew by 5.4% in September in year-on-year terms, and the volume of new domestic orders rose by 6.1%, while the volume of new export orders increased by 5.2%, KSH reported, adding that the volume of total stock of orders was above September 2014 levels by 8.5%.

In the period of January-September, output grew year-on-year by 6.7%; the volume of export sales, representing 64% of all sales, grew by 8.9%, while that of domestic sales, accounting for 36% of all sales, increased by 2.6%, KSH said.
